La Union is a province in the Philippines located in the Ilocos Region in the island of Luzon. Its capital is the city of San Fernando which also serves as the regional center of the whole Ilocos Region. When it comes to food, most of La Union’s restaurants serve Ilocano cuisine with the country’s culinary traditions. Two of the best restaurants in La Union which I highly recommended are as follows:
A hotel restaurant right on the beach located at San Juan Surf Resort, Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union. It is a perfect place to hang out and eat a sumptuous local and international cuisine. It has nice, cozy, modern interior and summer vibe. It also has a great viewing deck of the beach. We came here for lunch and ordered their best sellers before swimming at the beach. The staffs of the restaurant welcomed us with a warmth smile and greetings. Though it’s one of the more “high-end” restaurants among the slew of food spots in San Juan, we were surprised to find the prices quite affordable and the foods are better than average. The foods we ordered were served after 20 minutes but it was worth the wait! A good value for money! Thumbs up!

The place is very pleasant to enjoy a sumptuous meal. The tables and chairs are woods intentionally made to look like they are old and worn. A well- kept and cozy restaurant which offers a nice and quiet environment any time of the day.

An Ilocano Restaurant located at Zandueta St., San Fernando, La Union. The restaurant is a quaint place with a local theme. It’s a great feast for the eyes with all the traditional ornaments splattered around the restaurant. It’s a bit nostalgic and colorful place to eat. It is a popular restaurant which serves great tasting dishes that even Filipino artists tried eating here. We visited this famous food destination for our lunch before going home and tried their best sellers. We waited for 30 minutes before we finally had our own table because we experienced a long queue. However, It was worth the wait since we got to experience authentic Ilocano food like pork binagoongan and best of all are the halo halo’s with reasonable prices. Recommended for food lovers. Thumbs Up!

The restaurant has a unique and interesting place with different zones. The place looks amazing and the staff made it even better with their courteous service.

“Food is our common ground, a universal experience.”
