Byaheng Mindanao: Chasing waterfalls at the city of Iligan

Have you been to Iligan City? It is a highly urbanized city in the Northern part of Mindanao, Philippines. It is one of the 10 largest cities in the Philippines in terms of land area. Well, I’ve been here last December 2015. The City got my interest because of the numerous waterfalls located within its area.  Iligan City is known as the “City of Majestic Waterfalls” and there are about 24 waterfalls in the city. Two of the most well known falls are the Tinago Falls and Maria Cristina Falls.

A Perfect Camiguin Experience: Day 2- Old Church Ruins, Sunken Cemetery and Sto. Niño Cold Spring

Camiguin is an island most Filipinos heard of but never been to. When I got the chance to visit Camiguin, I did not know what to expect even I’ve already seen most of the popular tourist attractions on TV shows featured at Living Asia Channel. I was curious to find out more about the beauty of Camiguin province. Upon reaching the place, my friends and I had an island tour for the first day and a land tour for the second day. It really captured our thrill seeking heart as it was the best experience we had! We were totally amazed when we personally had the glimpse of Camiguin. Wow! We did not expect to see such a beautiful and enthralling place!

A Perfect Camiguin Experience: Day 1 -The White Sandbar and Mantigue Island

Well, I planned a perfect escapade to treat myself from busy schedule and pressure from work. Since I am an adventurer who also wanted to experience simplicity and diversity, I opted to visit Camiguin Island for two days tour. I just wanted to simply relax, let the days pass by and enjoy nature at the same time away from the hustle and bustle life of the city. There was no active night life in Camiguin Island just like what I have seen in Boracay Island. I really love the serenity and tranquillity of the place especially nature where the mountains and the sea meet in harmony.

The Ultimate DIY Travel Guide: Mt. Pulag Survivor 2016

Before 2016 ends, I decided to reserve a slot for Mt. Pulag trek. A year-end getaway on the cold month of December. Yes, you read it right! I climbed Mt. Pulag on the coldest month of the year. I wanted to experience the thrill of Mt. Pulag’s wind chilling and freezing cold weather. I needed a serious preparation for this kind of extreme adventure because of the unpredictable weather condition at the top of the mountain. This Mt. Pulag experience was the toughest yet the most humbling hike I ever had. An amazing climb that was worth the struggle. Yes, the struggle was real! One of the hardest and coldest but best climb I had for 2016.

It’s been a year since I had my Bukidnon Adventure trip with my friends. It was such a wonderful place to visit! Bukidnon is a landlocked province in the Philippines located in the Northern Mindanao region. There are no seaports in the province because the place is entirely surrounded by land. The name “Bukidnon” means “highlander” or “mountain dweller”. The province is considered to be the food basket of Mindanao, being the major producer of rice and corn in the region.

I highly recommend this place to everyone. Bring your family, friends, and other people in your life. You would really enjoy being here. Why?

These are five reasons I love my Bukidnon Adventure trip.

Explore the Hidden Treasure of Minalungao National Park

I wonder what to expect in the province of Nueva Ecija. I haven’t heard much from this province until one of my friends told me that there was a hidden paradise located in the municipality of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon Region. So I searched for it and decided to schedule the trip as my next summer destination. The so called “Minalungao National Park” a protected area with 2,018 hectares centered along the scenic Peñaranda River, bordered on both sides by up to 16-meter high limestone walls in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range. The park is promoted by the local government as an ecotourism destination offering breath-taking scenery of green pristine river and unique rock formations.

Gastronomic Delights: Two of the best restaurants in La Union

La Union is a province in the Philippines located in the Ilocos Region in the island of Luzon. Its capital is the city of San Fernando which also serves as the regional center of the whole Ilocos Region. When it comes to food, most of La Union’s restaurants serve Ilocano cuisine with the country’s culinary traditions. Two of the best restaurants in La Union which I highly recommended are as follows:

1. Coast Call Kitchen & Bar

A hotel restaurant right on the beach located at San Juan Surf Resort, Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union.  It is a perfect place to hang out and eat a sumptuous local and international cuisine. It has nice, cozy, modern interior and summer vibe. It also has a great viewing deck of the beach. We came here for lunch and ordered their best sellers before swimming at the beach. The staffs of the restaurant welcomed us with a warmth smile and greetings.  Though it’s one of the more “high-end” restaurants among the slew of food spots in San Juan, we were surprised to find the prices quite affordable and the foods are better than average. The foods  we ordered were served after 20 minutes but it was worth the wait! A good value for money! Thumbs up!
